  • The vertical axis is showing temperature. The units are in celcius. The total range is -0.6 to 0.6
  • They don't say where the data came from.

global warming

  • 1 - What do you think the global average temperature is?  This means the average for everywhere on Earth, day and night, for an entire year.  Explain why you answered what you did.
  • I think the global average temperature is 50 because everywhere has a different climate.
  • 2 - People are often talking about "global warming."  How much do you think the average global temperature has increased in the past 100 years?  Do you think that this is a lot?
  • i think it's like 2%, and yes this is alot.
  • 3 - What do you think is the hottest the Earth has ever been? (since there has been an atmosphere?)  How about the coldest the Earth has ever been?  Explain why you answered what you did.
  • the warmest is probably like 100 and the coldest is probably -10 or something.
  • 4 - Are you concerned about "global warming?"  Why or why not?

question 4 on page 266

The amount of rainfall affects weather a soil is a grassland or a forest soil. They both need rain in the region there in, but grassland soils needs less rain because it needs to support grass but not heavy tree growth. Forest soils need enough rain to support heavy tree growth though, so it needs more.
